• Standard Membership (See Standard Members)
  
  The standard membership is our basic plan, which includes special discounts on rentals, courses and purchases from members of the association. Moreover, the standard membership entitles you to participate, as a skipper or crewmember, in all races and rallies sponsored by Affordable Yachting. You may also place an unlimited number of classified ads in the free sections...

• Support Membership (See Support Members)
  
  (This is the membership needed for listing your sailboat in all the commercial sections (boat for sale, charter, bareboat etc). Support members can publish up to 2 ads per section not exceeding a total of 3 ads all sections.)
  In addition to the benefits listed above, a support membership also includes sailboat registration in all categories and your own personal nautical Web page at our Web site (see chart, below). No need to pay for commercial rate! Affordable Yachting will host any personal sailing related Web page on his site. Put on you Sailing Resume, your personal Charter inf., your personal Sail Project etc. You will benefit from the growing popularity of our site.See note 1 below.

• Corporate Membership (See Corporate Members)
  
  * Corporate members can advertise as many boats they want in our commercial sections. The first 4 ads are free and the rest are at 15$/year. Bulk rate for unlimited ads are available.
  To those in boating or sailing related business (ex: rental agencies, brokers, sailing schools, equipment sales, etc.), we offer the corporate membership plan to increase your company’s visibility with your target market! Corporate membership requirements are flexible and rates are competitive and vary according to the size of the advertising. This membership is not limited to sailing related activities. Any corporation out there will benefit from visibility on the net. At this price, it's not worth passing. See note 1 below.

Note 1: The membership fee for Support and Corporate categories does not include conception fee for the Web Page. All the extra money generated by the Support and Corporation membership will be strictly reinvested in the publicity of this Web Site.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEMBERSHIPS

BASIC AGREEMENT BETWEEN AFFORDABLE YACHTING AND ITS MEMBERS

It is understood that Affordable Yachting is an organization of sailing amateurs (hereafter referred to as the Organization) of which the purpose is to facilitate exchange among its members (hereafter referred to as Members) be it for recreational purposes or for profit. It is understood that Members will pay an annual membership fee, which will fund the administrative and promotional activities of the Organization. Each Member will be required to remit a minimum fee of 20$ for each calendar year in which he/she uses the lists and/or services of the Organization regardless of the date of publication of said lists. Affordable Yachting will not charge a commission nor require any form of monetary compensation for transactions conducted between Members. Members do, therefore absolve Affordable Yachting and its legal representatives of all responsibility, both civil and legal, with regard to the said transactions. Members shall be responsible for remitting all applicable taxes on their transactions to the appropriate governmental authority. It is, furthermore, understood that all members and non-members who choose to participate in activities organized by Affordable Yachting, such as races, rallies, meetings, etc., do also release, absolve Affordable Yachting its legal representatives of all responsibility, both civil and legal, in relation to those activities and any damage to property of bodily injury resulting from those activities.

Members, who advertise goods or services for sale, rent or exchange, must do so in accordance with all applicable consumer protection laws. No misrepresentation, false advertising, nor fraud will be tolerated. It is the responsibility of all Members to notify the Organization of any misconduct of this nature. Examples of misrepresentation include non-existent goods or services, advertised pricing which is lower than the price actually charged, or inflated pricing with a discount automatically applicable to all. As members conduct transactions as independent individuals/entities/enterprises, the Organization shall not be held responsible for any litigation generated in relation to the transactions between its Members. The Organization, shall, however take prompt action to prevent other such misconduct.

Sailboat owners and agents agree to offer a discount to Members on their regular pricing. In the case of rentals, courses and sailing initiation, the discount shall be at least 10% of the regular price. In the case of sales, the discount shall be at least 100$ off the final price of sale. The discounts offered shall be authentic and exclusive to Members in good standing of the Organization and shall be available upon presentation of the membership card or verification of valid membership with the Organization. All memberships shall commence on January 1st and expire on December 31st of the same year. Prorata membership pricing is available upon request for membership beginning mid-year. By paying the membership fee for the following full year, cost of membership for the remainder of the current year will be prorated according to the numbers of months left (minimum of 5$).
